On September 30th, 2018, a special 75-minute literary program was presented at the Gere Branch Library — “The Mystery of Agatha Christie”. This program was a biographical profile of Christie as a writer, including a look at her 11-day disappearance in 1926; it also covered several “Top Ten” lists of her works, and a look at the actors/actresses who have played Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple on TV/Film over the years. This program was hosted, in character as Hercule Poirot, by one of the Bennett Martin Public Library staff — Scott C. — who was then featured as Poirot in a Lincoln Community Playhouse production of Christie’s play, “Black Coffee” in October and November 2018. The program was then repeated at the downtown Bennett Martin Public Library on November 7th, 2018.
Scott C. also gave a shortened version of this presentation as part of the BooksTalk series at both Bethany and Gere Branch Libraries. The original, longer, versions, included an Agatha Christie PowerPoint slide show, which is viewable online.
Several handouts were prepared for the audience of this program, and are available in digital form here:
